Toyota has unveiled their plans for launching the next generation of Land Cruiser concept. The concept was introduced about a decade ago and it is recognized by its sturdy and tough body designing. The manufacturer is going to release the car as 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser and consumers should expect some elegant redesigns including more powerful engine options. Toyota is known for maintaining originality when it comes to Land Cruiser though this time they are going to add interesting features that are going to bypass the limits of SUV driving. The new updates go beyond just a mid-cycle updates.

The 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser is going to adopt a luxurious SUV platform with an elegant exterior styling. At the front end, the new 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser is going to get a bold designing with a rugged and sporty appearance. The luxurious front end styling will be complemented by a new bigger grille with horizontal slats. The new grille now stretch far into a pair of new headlights and from the spy pictures taken during a road test, the front fascia has been removed.

The bumper is going to be fitted with new fog lights and front fenders are also going to receive some redesigning. Expect a sportier appearance with LED daytime running lights. The rear end also gets LED lighting technology adopted for the indicators and the new alloy wheels are going to enhance the car’s off-road capabilities.

Inside the 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser, it will come with a more comfortable and luxurious cabin featuring modern infotainment system. The dashboard has been revised with a 9-inch touchscreen display, where most of the controls are performed. The spacious interior designing allows for sufficient headroom and legroom to accommodate both tall and short occupants. Comfort is going to be enhanced by the high-quality leather material upholstering on both the front and rear seats.

Other standard 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser interior equipment includes automatic climate control, smartphone integration, premium sound system with satellite radio, USB port interface, MP3/CD player, Bluetooth audio and phone integration among other features. Driver assistance and safety will be provided by rear view camera, cruise control, line departure alert system, premium seatbelts and airbags, traction control and others.

Under the hood, the upcoming 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser model will get two powertrain options. The base powertrain will be a 5.7- liter V-8 engine. This drivetrain will be offered for the U.S market and its power output is rated at 381 horsepower at 400 lb-ft of torque. It will be paired with new 8-speed automatic transmission while power will be sent to either front wheel drive system or rear wheel drive option. However, this is still waiting for confirmation from Toyota.

In terms of fuel economy, you should expect 18 mpg for city drives, 15 mpg for highways and a combined EPA of about 17 miles per gallon. The automaker has also lined up a new 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel motor which is capable of powering up to 174 horsepower at about 331 lb-ft of torque. This engine will be mated to either six-speed manual gearbox or six-speed automatic transmission. There is still no reliable information on the fuel economy, acceleration and top speed for the turbo-charged engine.

There is still no official announcement on the Release Date and Price for this 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser. However, consumers are anticipating that Toyota will release the vehicle towards the end of this year or probably the beginning of 2017. New Land Cruiser will go for about $70,000 as the base price.
